Now I understand why I buy DVDs. They are objects of worship. Not necessarily for the art inherent in them, but for my feelings for them, my emotional impact. I want to possess them as a record to my reaction to them. So almost, I wished to bottle those emotional highs I experienced in viewing them in a one bright shiny package.

Another low point.
one need Direction, hopefully in the in form of the big bright neon arrows that guide the way for adventurers in the video games. I've known a few people who could get along happily without much long term planning. It's called living in the present. But for me, the future seems always terrifyingly close. During middle school I had to attend a class called Exploring Careers or something to that effect. The students had to fill out lengthy questionnaires, designed to cull out all our inner-qualities and through some mysterious algorithm transfuse them into prediction of future competence in one career or another.
I took it very seriously. Very diligently I filled out of the questionnaires, and gave every question careful consideration. So commited I was to this exercise, my teacher was very impressed with my maturity. "I can tell you are very concerned with your future." So I was. The answer came back fast and it turns out I had a great future as a . . . . dietician. For a few days, my little head buzzed with the thought of this "career." Those questionnaires all looked terribly authoriatative, they can't be wrong, can they?
